Haenyeos refer to local female divers 🤿 in Jeju Island who dive into the sea, collecting various marine species for harvest, such as seaweed, abalone, sea urchins, and other seafood. We will meet a real Haenyeo Eunjoo who settled down her new life as a Haenyeo 10 years ago. 🧜♀️ She learned the ways of the Haenyeo to become a professional and settled down in Jeju Seogwipo with her family. To conserve and spread the culture of Haenyeo locally and globally, she teams up with her husband and young Haenyeos who start Haenyo diving as a job in Jeju Island. The Haenyeo team organizes a cultural workshop for tourists to empower the local Haenyeo community. During this Jeju Haeneyo Camp, you will have the opportunity to experience a centuries-old tradition among local female divers while enjoying breathtaking ocean nature along the way.

👉 I want to go on a weekend trip to refresh myself.
👉 I want to experience a unique Haenyeo activity in South Korea.
👉 I want to spend an unforgettable moment with the NomadHer sisters.
👉 Can I dive even if I'm afraid of the water?
Absolutely! You don’t need to worry about being afraid of the water. With our instructor's guidance, you'll practice diving in shallower waters not in a deeper sea.
👉 Does this class require previous experience? What does the level of the diving look like?
No previous experience is required. Our experienced instructors will be there to guide you every step of the way.
👉How will the water temperature be? Isn't it quite cold for diving?
Typically, the water temperature remains warm from June, early summer, and even after summer until the end of October. These periods are the best seasons for water sports in Korea.
👉I'm a solo traveler. How can I go to the Haeneyo Diving point by myself?
To get there by bus, take Jeju bus #201 from Seogwipo Olle Market; the journey will take about 20 minutes to reach our first meeting point. In addition, you can take a taxi from Seogwipo city center, which will take approximately 15 minutes and cost around 10,000 KRW one way.
Please refer to the route from Naver Map here.
👉Where should I stay in Jeju to attend the Haenyeo Camp?
We highly recommend that you stay in Seogwipo city center. The city is the most accessible from Jeju International Airport upon arrival on Jeju Island and has many public transportation options running between Jeju City and other parts of the island.
⚠️ Jeju Island is hard to predict the weather in advance. If the waves and winds are expected to be too strong and dangerous (such as during typhoons), the host may modify the diving point to a mountain water pool or cancel the diving and change the alternative activity for NomadHers' safety.
”It was fun to watch our guide diving easily around while we could relax, float, enjoy the nature, and try out our diving skills!”
"The warm welcome and hospitality from our Heenyeo host family - they were all so kind and full of positive energy! And the nice company of the other Nomadhers."
