💁‍♀️What is Madeira Digital Nomad Camp?

This year, we have prepared a Madeira NomadHer Camp where you will get a chance to work on your own business & brand together in Madeira Digital Nomad village. This Madeira Camp is for you, women who wish to start your own brand, project, and also business while working remotely but also who wish to bring an impact into the world.

Based on our first Madeira Camp edition in 2022, the NomadHer team has prepared a NomadHer Camp where we gather together to share inspiration to get to know each other.

🏄‍♀️Why NomadHer Madeira Digital Nomad Camp Special?

NomadHer Camp is a unique chance to meet all-female globetrotters with inspiring stories from all different parts of the world and to talk and share our inspiration together. This Madeira edition is especially for those aspiring female entrepreneurs and digital nomads who wish to start their own business & brand and also who wish to construct a remote working team or work remotely.  NomadHer is the final winner of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Innovation award for woman empowerment in the world out of 2,000 startups who applied. NomadHer is also the finalist for 2022 Madeira Startup Retreat, currently a community app of over 40,000 women from 190 different countries.

This Madeira Camp is ideal for those who have recently quit their job to start their own business/brand, and who want to recharge while staying on the beautiful island of Madeira for the upcoming future. Especially late spring & early summer is the flower festival season in Madeira and what can be better than joining NomadHer Camp? Also, Each one of the participants will have free time during the days when they can work on their own personal projects and work.

✅ Who is the host?

Hyojeong Kim is the CEO and founder of NomadHer. Hyojeong has been nominated by UN Women as one of the 8 rising young women to change the world and has been invited by Dior and United Nations to give a speech and share her knowledge and insights into starting entrepreneurship.

Hyojeong has previously worked in UNESCO, OECD, and also Google of South Korea called Naver and she has a master's degree in International Development at SciencesPo Paris. It’s been almost 5 years of leading NomadHer from the very first seed & concept idea, and so far we have secured 1 million USD to lead the team.

Hyojeong has traveled to around 50 countries and now I’m working and traveling by leading NomadHer. Are you curious about my story? We will stay together for a week and get to know each other!
She was recently invited by DIOR & UNESCO to give a speech in front of the 500 women from all around the world on the entrepreneurship journey of NomadHer. NomadHer has won the grand world champion out of 2,000 startups who applied for the United Nations Awake Tourism Challenge where they select the most inspiring and innovative startup which impact the woman empowerment.

Mountains, the great sea, and the exciting island vibe will be along with you all the way during the travel. It is your first day in Madeira. it will be good to expect as much as you can! Our accommodation will be open from 4:00 pm. So you can put your luggage first and go out to enjoy your first day in Madeira!

[💡Workshop & Gathering 1] Say hi to each other. Share your business idea. You don’t have any business ideas? Don’t worry, we will work on how to find the best idea to start your own business. Hyojeong will share how she has come up with the NomadHer idea and how to select your business ideas.

Find your inner peace in Madeira with Wing Yoga! 🧘‍♂️ By now, were you busy working and have no time to take care of yourself? Now, you are in Madeira. It is time to take care of your health and your personal life! As watching the sunrise above the sea, you will experience a special moment to listen to your inner voice. It will awaken you about what you forget for a while.

Feeling the breeze of Madeira island, open all your senses. It is also a kind of meditation to make you relax and relieve your mind. 8h: Breath in peace with Sunrise Wing yoga class with a sea view! 🧘🌊 Our yoga teacher will help you find a way to balance your life.

[💡 Workshop 2] Now you got some ideas or you can choose some random idea to work on during the week. Everyone can have ideas but there are only a few people who make this into action. How can I start the idea? If I want to create/develop a platform, or community, or maybe if I want to launch my own cosmetic brand where should I start with 0 money? This is where the story begins.

🗓️Day 3(Mon, June 12th)

Let’s organize your own day and enjoy! 🌸 Today, Let’s organize your day and enjoy your own moment on Madeira island! It’s time to discover the downtown area of Funchal! Half of the population lived in this area so it means that there are lots of things you can see! And the best thing is the sightseeing places are all close together. This is a great way to look around the city center and buy some souvenirs, cherries on the market, and gelato on the way.

Did we also say that Madeira has many own specialties? You can start your trip to Santa Catarina Park. It is a peaceful place in the center of the city. You will see people lying down on the grass enjoying the sunlight. Many flowers all over the world make this place more colorful. Then, along the street, you can drop by Blandy's Wine Lodge which is a historical place and can taste various types of Madeira wine.

Near this, there is a big Farmers' Market where you can find various fruits, fish, and local foods. There is a sweet Madeira local fruit called the Pineapple banana(Ananas-banana). The atmosphere of the local market makes you experience a local’s life. Enjoy your morning with coffee and tea🍵 & stretch your body

Let’s go for a road trip for whole day to explore the western part of the Madeira Islands!🚍

Road trip to explore the island for the whole day!🏔️ Madeira is famous for its exclusive nature. Along the sea road, we will visit great places that are representative of the island. The first stop is Camara de Lobos(Wine Testing) which is the most atmospheric fishing village. The stony beach here is filled with colorful beached fishing boats. Winston Church choose this village to paint in 1949. And then, we drive for you further up to Cabo Girao, the world’s second-highest and Europe’s highest (580m) – (1775 ft). You can enjoy the magnificent views of Camara de Lobos and Funchal.

Ribeira Brava is the next stop on this journey. The mother church is its main point of interest. Build in the 16th Century it has undergone several alterations throughout time. It has a Flemish work of art and a valuable Manuel-style baptism fountain. But its chandeliers are its main attraction. On the sea promenade, the fort of São Bento is this town’s landmark. Paul da Serra is Madeira’s biggest and highest plateau. Located at 1400mts (4593 ft). It is Madeira’s Scot’s moors. It has wide open landscapes, where you can enjoy the panoramic views over the Valleys.

13:30pm:

Porto Moniz(Natural pool) is Madeira’s most north-western valley. From Above, this dramatic village at the foot of the mountain is quite flat. The terraced slopes, lined with dry stone walls and fences, made of heather broom, shelter the crops from the northerly winds. The main attractions are its beautiful natural pools. On the promenade which stretches from the naturals pools to the pier. we will swim in this pool! bring your bathing suit and towel! 🏊‍♂️

Cais Seixal is an excellent place to stop if you are traveling through the highway on the Northern coast of Madeira. From here you can explore the rocky coast and have a walk on the dock to admire the big cliffs and waterfalls which are on both sides of this little village.

Sao Vicente Located on the North Coast between two rows of basaltic lava, Sao Vicente is a charming little town with narrow picturesque streets, and old houses, and immaculately white. The mother church, dates to the 17th century. At the edge of the main road lies a park with coastal The volcanic caves can be found here. But, that is a tour on its own.

NomadHer has started from 100 USD to test the first idea of a fake app poster and now the company worths around 10 Million USD. How did it start from the very first beginning? We’re going to talk about various types of funding such has crowdfunding, public grants & subsidy, and also some private investment.
